Subject: [Rosie] The Rosie Assignments

Finally, I have completed the Rosie Assignments for the 2009-2010 list. I tried my best to make the list fair and equal for everyone. Some folks didn't get every book they wanted while others had to be assigned titles to make sure all books got a fair read. This year, the minimum number of books assigned was 21. If everyone reads their assigned books, then each book will have been read 6-8 times. (I made the total at least one more than required for each book so that if someone misses the big meeting on October  11th at Carmel High School, then the book will still have the required 5 reads to make the list.)

That said....please feel free to read MORE books than you are assigned. If you have an assigned book that you just know you won't read, feel free to email the list to see if someone can "trade" with you. We want the choosing to be fair and for every book to get a fair chance to make it on the final Rosie list. If we all work together this process is so much easier.

ALSO...as you read the books, be thinking and taking notes. Before we meet in October, you will be receiving an email asking you to list your top 5 books. We will compile the list and this will help us get a good start choosing the books. Our goal is to have a great time in October without spending 7 hours in the "fight". Hopefully, by doing a quick email "vote" to begin with, we will have a fair idea of titles to move up early in the meeting.
